Canine Massage Instructional Session Testimonial

Arnie Katz offers a wonderful service to pet owners and their pets! My 11 year old golden retriever was having health issues and it took months to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. In the meantime, I contacted Arnie (recommended by my sister who’s 13 year old Lab sees Arnie). Arnie promptly answered my phone call and we set up an appointment for later that week. I asked Arnie to come to my home as my dog was so ill. Arnie was on-time and my dog took to him immediately. He massaged my dog and then taught me how to massage my dog. After the massage, my dog lay quietly on his side and wagged his tail. We hadn't seen him wag his tail in weeks! I can't recommend Arnie highly enough. He's intuitive, professional and very sensitive to dogs and their owners. Treat yourself and your pet. You won't regret it!

Arnie Katz with Gordon Jones

“Gordon Jones” loves his weekly massage...and so does his owner!

My 12 year old Mini-Schnauzer, Gordon, limped for 2 years because of an arthritic rear paw. He has been on medication which seemed to alleviate the pain, but sixteen months ago Arnie Katz began to massage Gordon and within 2 weeks, Gordon was no longer limping. He is now massaged weekly and walks normally, and Arnie has become one of his best friends.

As a matter of fact, Gordon was enjoying his massages so much that I started getting massages with Arnie too and now I see him regularly. I also had an accident 10 months ago that injured my back and affected my balance when walking. Arnie's massage has helped with my low back pain, sore legs, and also improved my sense of balance.

"Tucker" Coolidge

“Tucker Coolidge”

When Tucker, a 6½ year old Golden Retriever from the Rescue League came to his new home with us, he was sweet, docile, housebroken, but unresponsive. He never smiled or wagged his tail, and he didn't seem to know how to play. He wasn't affectionate and was very nervous about being touched. We called Arnie Katz. At first Tucker was shy, but sat with Arnie, who started talking to him and stroking him very gently. Tucker fell asleep, snores and all, perfectly relaxed. The next time Arnie came, Tucker took him to his cushion and enjoyed a massage — paying attention and wagging his tail...Arnie really worked some magic on this dog. Even if your pet is perfect, you'll see him completely relax and enjoy Arnie's massage and soothing voice. You’ll know you're giving him a great treat. If your dog is sad, worried, hyper, scared or anxious, Arnold can help him be a happy, calm, tail wagger. Give your dog a present of some time with Arnie.

“Preston” Sullivan

My best friend is a 14-year-old mutt named Preston. Earlier this year, Preston served as the "Chairdog" for Boston's first DOGSWALK AGAINST CANCER, an event that raised almost $100,000 for human and canine cancer research and treatment. At that event we had the pleasure of meeting Arnie Katz. Arnie volunteered his time at the DOGSWALK to help make it a huge success. Arnie was demonstrating the benefit of massage for dogs.

"Preston" Sullivan with his parent

Months later, Preston was having a lot of difficulty getting from a lying down position to a standing position. He would have to drag his hind quarters along until he could finally stand. This was painful for him and heartbreaking for me. I was faced with that awful decision about what was the best thing to do for my beloved friend namely put him down so that he would no longer suffer or keep him alive but in pain and with a poor quality of life. As I was agonizing over this decision I remembered the conversation I had with Arnie and gave him a call.

Arnie came to our home and worked on Preston's old and pain filled muscles. Within minutes I could see the fear and pain leave Preston's eyes. He appeared relaxed and free from pain as Arnie massaged his leg muscles. The longer Arnie massaged his muscles the more relaxed and happy Preston looked. At the end of the session, Preston got up and walked!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. It was like a miracle. Here was my dear, devoted friend standing up with little effort and no pain. Arnie has continued to massage Preston and the results are wonderful. Preston's mobility is vastly improved. He is able to get up from a sitting and lying down position with no help and he is able to go up and down the stairs. He is enjoying our walks again and even gave chase to a cat the other day. Needless to say, the cat was in no danger but it made Preston feel like a dog again.

Arnie and his marvelous massages are keeping Preston free from pain in his old age and for that I will be eternally grateful. Thank you, Arnie for helping me help my best friend.

Testimonial for Canine Massage Instruction

"Tuck" Wastson

I can't thank you enough for all you've taught us. We really saw a very positive response to the therapy in Tucker last night. I was truly amazed at how he allowed you to work on his feet and his front legs in particular, as he's usually so protective of those areas. And, his overall mobility seemed to improve just from one session...really remarkable. We will work with him a little bit each night and report back to you on our progress. We know that the massage does him a world of good, and it makes us feel like we're doing something proactive in helping him. I know this will be a wonderful bonding process, and that, with consistency, we can help relieve Tuck's pain.

Follow up report 2 weeks later: Tuck loves it!!! He gives me the big stare when I stop..."you can't possibly be finished!" He just seems to let go, and I love that he can find such relief from his daily struggles. Sometimes he naps for an hour after a massage session, and that is very gratifying. You have a true gift...dogs, and their owners, are very lucky to find you!

Testimonials from the Pet Sitters International (PSI) Conference on November 23, 2003

"Pele", Shannon, and Arnie at the Pet Sitters International (PSI) Conference

Testimonials from conference attendees:

  • “Wow! Great speaker and demonstration...extremely interesting.”

  • “Fantastic — very interesting, informative, and encouraging.”

  • “Arnie was an excellent presenter. Very informative, enjoyable, and relaxing.”

...And a pet owner gets her massage, too!

...I have been seeing Arnie every other week for almost 2 years. I love the fact that he comes to my house where I'm most comfortable, asks me how my week was and what parts of the body need attention...I love the foot massage. After his massage, they don't hurt anymore.

I work at a desk on a computer most of the day, so my neck and shoulders get knots in them. Arnie's hands get them all out. He ends each massage by rubbing his hands together and placing them over my eyes and face. His hands get extremely hot. It feels like I have a hot cloth on my face. It is the most soothing and wonderful way to end a massage.
